Singapore Photo Day

People's photography competition for everyone.

Photography is a master storyteller. Photographs have the ability to support, provoke, challenge, affirm, educate and speak directly to a community about their unique identity. Telling the stories with photography with the images taken by people helps establish and build identities, in today's fast moving world there is a established and developed competition to capture 24 hours in your place.

Singapore Photo Day (a formatted project initiated by the Auckland Festival of Photography in New Zealand since 2004) is an annual open access public competition run over a period of 24 hours. For one day only everyone is asked to capture an image which reflects their day.

Singapore Photo Day is conversational, it allows anyone, anywhere, to share their own perspectives of their own day. Whilst it is celebrated in a spirit of fun this event also fulfills the important role of documenting our life right here and now in the world we live in.

Photographers from all walks of life - groups, individuals, families, children - anyone with access to a camera imaging device is encouraged to submit the scenes, people and places that reflect their own day.

A DAY IN THE LIFE of your place. If the photo is good enough to show your friends and family - your built-in audience - it might be good enough to win Singapore Photo Day. Terms and conditions apply.

Date to be confirmed and further details to be published later.
